What should I know about tipping and fees?
- Gratuity: Default is 20% of the pre-tax amount, with reductions allowed for smaller orders. Tips exceeding 20% require documented approval.
- Fees: Delivery and other fees vary by caterer and will be displayed during checkout.

How is payment handled?
Payments are processed through iO using your department’s COA or project code. Monthly statements summarize all expenses for reconciliation.
Does Rice’s tax exemption apply?
Yes, but confirm invoices to ensure no sales tax is applied. Service fees, delivery fees, and gratuity are not tax-exempt.
How can I track expenses?

Should I create one order per caterer?
Yes, it is best practice to create one order per caterer. This ensures that each vendor receives a clear and accurate request, simplifies tracking and approval processes, and helps streamline payments and invoice reconciliation.
How are caterers added to ATG?
Rice and ATG identify high-use vendors who meet insurance and contractual requirements. Additional vendors are added upon user requests or based on research.
Do caterers pay to join ATG?
No. Caterers only pay fees based on the orders they receive.
What do order statuses mean?
- Draft: Order created but not submitted.
- Pending: Submitted and awaiting caterer confirmation.
- Confirmed: Approved and confirmed by the caterer.
- Cancelled: The order was voided.
